◇ HELLO ◇
NARYNOV

I build, research, and try to understand things.

Computational biology, machine learning, and the spaces between.

ABOUT

I'm Tair — just graduated from High Bluff Academy in San Diego. Originally from Kazakhstan, I've spent the last few years figuring out what I want to do — so far I'm most drawn to the intersection of AI and biology, but who knows.

This fall I'm heading to the University of Toronto for Computer Science, with a membership at Victoria College. Planning to focus on machine learning and data science with a minor in biology.

I speak English, Russian, and Kazakh.

WORK
  • VIVIDFORMS
Software engineer at a robotic fabrication studio in Almaty. Modeled measurement uncertainty and fixed marker detection for Brodyaga, a rover that measures workshop positions to about 2 cm using an 11-camera rig, ~340 ArUco markers, and sparse bundle adjustment. Ceiling projectors use those measurements to show sculptors where to work. Also built a three.js WebXR viewer that places CAD models at 1:1 scale on the shop floor through Quest 3 passthrough.
    Summer 2026 — present
  • BIOINFORMATICS RESEARCH
ML models for pancreatic cancer drug discovery — PIM1/PAK4 kinase inhibition. With Scripps & UCSD.
    2024 — present
  • AMANUENSIS
Mac text editor for drafting prose in your own voice. Electron/React frontend with a Python sidecar over the Agent Client Protocol. Builds a persona from writing samples, then drafts, critiques, and revises with a different model per pass, configured in a routing file. Local MLX generation and LoRA fine-tuning on the writer's samples. Voice match scores 0.986 ROC AUC in a leave-one-passage-out eval.

  • GITGUARD
Python/Typer CLI for secret and vulnerability-pattern scanning across files, directories, ZIPs, and GitHub repos. Uses provider regexes, context-aware assignment parsing, entropy scoring, ranked findings, and a model-selectable agentic harness for reviewed patch generation. Best UI/UX Award at CipherHacks 2026. .
    June 2026
  • Bibliometric study on GNNs for drug repurposing in neuropsychiatric disorders. Collaborated with undergrads from Columbia, UC Berkeley, Purdue, and Seattle U. R programming (50-hr certified), Web of Science analysis across 100+ papers. Co-authored abstract, poster, and oral defense.
    Summer 2025
  • AI carbon credit marketplace with vector-based semantic matching. Code4Hope finalist, presented at Microsoft NYC. Best Design Award at Katy Youth Hacks 2025. 5th place in the 2025 Congressional App Challenge with a from Rep. Scott Peters (CA-50).
    2025
  • ROBOTICS
FIRST Robotics software developer on Marauder Tech Team. Led a team of three to 1st place at the Aerospace Robotics Coding Competition exhibition with an autonomous drone whose ML vision system detects color-coded, hand-numbered balloons, logs their positions, and navigates to pop them.
    2023 — present
  • SWE KNIGHTHACKS
1st place at the Bishops School hackathon. Led a cross-school team to build a Chrome extension that gamified studying — XP, levels, and an ML-powered attention tracker that used webcam input to detect focus loss. Awarded by Lockheed Martin.
